Working at camp is “s’more” than just a summer job! You experience personal growth while working in an uplifting community environment and making a lasting impact on young people. You expand your skill set as a confident, competent leader, ready to handle any situation life throws at you.
Summer camp staff serve in a variety of roles as needed. All full-time, on-site staff may be called upon to serve in any and all of the following roles.
- Counselor and program staff work directly with children of all ages as well as adult volunteers. Staff create and implement creative programming as well as general supervision of minors. They follow the health and safety standards as set forth by the Michigan State Department of Public Health and Safety and the American Camp Association. Program staff may specialize in lifeguarding, archery, or other program areas such as music, drama, and art.
- Housekeeping staff are responsible for cleaning the dining and kitchen areas after each meal as well as assisting with the upkeep and cleanliness of camp buildings and facilities.
- Kitchen staff assist with the preparation and serving of food for each meal under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor.
- All staff assist with the preparation of each building prior to each weekly camp session with a deep clean, including floors, bathrooms, general interior and exterior cleanliness, and all garbage removal.
