Introducing Grace Outside
We have exciting news! Michigan Area United Methodist Camping is launching its new brand, Grace Outside! This energizing new brand tells the story today’s families need to hear: experiencing God’s Grace Outside creates love inside. Grace Outside invites you to experience the love of God outside of your everyday life. Sometimes that means leaving your familiar spaces and ways of living, giving you the freedom to discover who you are, what faith means to you, and how to receive God’s love in new and fulfilling ways.
Grace Outside is rooted in the rich history of the United Methodist Church and embraces the concept of grace as the unearned love of God. Whether you grew up in church or have never attended a religious service, Grace Outside offers a welcoming space where you can explore and grow in faith without judgment. Let’s GO outside and break free from the familiar and enjoy the moment — whether that means slowing down and taking in the majesty of a sunrise or sunset at a retreat, or kicking it into high gear for an energized game or worship song at summer camp. You can help grow this vital ministry in 2024. Recent investments from our capital reserves mean that priority renovations and improvements have been made at all of our destinations. More than ever we’re ready to welcome guests, families, and campers with a great experience. Your referrals, prayers and financial gifts now will help sustain this nonprofit outreach for years to come. Please consider making a gift today using one of these options:
- Donate to the Camp Affordability Fund — Many families can’t afford the full cost of camp, and money should never be an obstacle for any child to attend camp. With rising operational costs, 2024 summer camp fees will increase. Your gifts to the Camp Affordability Fund will help offset the burden on families. The goal is to raise $10,000 to meet the expected need for 2024 campers. Will you help?
- Become a Sustaining Member — Ongoing, monthly gifts will help us keep pace with rising costs, keep fees reasonable, maintain quality facilities and programs and close the funding gap from funds that formerly came from the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. Your monthly gift of $25 or more can multiply love, joy and grace to hundreds throughout the year. For example: $27/month ($324/year) provides for a family weekend away or $37.50/month ($450/year) covers a full week of overnight camp for a child or youth. The goal is $20,000 or 50 Sustaining Members at about $33/month.
