Volunteer Opportunities
We’re looking for friends to join our community of “adopt a cabin” volunteers! Groups that sponsor cabins or other buildings come spring and fall to clean, repair and show their adopted building some TLC. Whether you’re an individual or a group, your contribution will make a lasting impact.
By volunteering, you’ll be directly supporting our mission to provide GRACE and meaningful experiences for all who visit Wesley Woods. For more information or to sign up, please contact us at 269-721-8291 or 989-534-6587. We’d love to welcome you to the team!
God’s Treasures Camp is an annual summer program for adults with special needs at Lake Huron Retreat Center. Being a volunteer camp counselor is a rewarding experience! Counselors are assigned two or three campers, based on camper needs. Counselors ensure campers participate in the activities of the week. Two days of training with the camp leaders and other volunteers happen prior to the campers arrival.
Volunteer training starts 6:30 Monday evening.
Come to the Woods Saturday, April 26 to help get camp ready for summer. Enjoy a day of fellowship, hard work and fun times. We need brush clearing, program areas set up, power washing, closets cleaned out, painting, shelving projects and more. Lunch will be served. Overnight accommodations are available for volunteers on request. Call Marie at 269-721-8291 to register yourself or your group.
Some folks like to make a weekend of it and arrive on Thursday or Friday (light meals available on Friday when you call ahead for accommodations). You can volunteer during the day and then relax in the evenings at camp, enjoy a campfire or fish/boat ride on the lake or take a walk through the 300 acres of our big forest and rolling hills. If you want to also volunteer for Sunday’s Family Fun Day (April 27), contact Allison.
P.S. Consider bringing a local service organizations or church group for a service day or invite teens to earn volunteer hours. We love our volunteers!
Donations of cleaning supplies to help the work teams are very appreciated. Thank you!
Volunteers ensure that dozens of children and youth get to experience a much-needed spiritual recharge right in the middle of winter! Campers gather for worship, games, discussion and wacky winter fun both inside and outside. We need volunteers to be counselors in cabins, help with set up, kitchen crew, clean up, and other logistics. Please indicate in which area you’d like to serve. Note: a background check and character references are required to work around campers.
We love our volunteers! Come on out and give some time to your favorite camp and retreat destination — together we can keep Wesley Woods beautiful! Families, individuals and groups are welcome!
- Tasks include: grounds clean-up, indoor cleaning, cabin sponsors clean cabins, prepare camp for winter
Help keep the campus beautiful and ready for guests. If you can offer a few hours, these jobs would help staff focus on other needs:
- mowing, weed whacking, trimming around the site
- pulling weeds in our landscaping beds
- power washing buildings, picnic tables, etc.
- beach cleanup (ongoing)
Can you give a week to nurture children, youth and teens with God’s generous compassion? Last summer we had 18- through 72-year-olds helping. Positions include: counselors, logistics, kitchen, nurse, and housekeeping. Bonus: Volunteers can get a significant discount on their immediate family’s registration fees.

- June 15-21
- June 22-28
- June 29-July 3
- July 6-12
